'Go for It, Nakamura!' Anime Casts Kenshō Ono, Kenta Miyake
The romantic comedy boys-love anime Go for It, Nakamura! has revealed two exciting additions to its voice cast. Popular voice actors Kenshō Ono and Kenta Miyake are joining the series, bringing new energy to the beloved retro-style anime adaptation.
According to the latest announcement, Kenshō Ono will voice Takao Matsumura, a middle school acquaintance of Hirose, while Kenta Miyake will play Nobu Todoroki, one of Hirose’s longtime friends. Both characters are set to appear in Episode 8, titled “Pinch! A Rival Appears!?”, which introduces fresh developments and possible complications for Nakamura’s already chaotic love life.
Fans of anime voice acting will likely recognize Kenshō Ono from major roles in series such as Kuroko’s Basketball and Hell’s Paradise, while Kenta Miyake is widely known for powerful performances in titles like My Hero Academia and SK8 the Infinity. Their addition is expected to add even more personality to the quirky cast.
Based on the manga by Syundei, Go for It, Nakamura! follows the awkward yet lovable Nakamura, a shy high school boy secretly crushing on his classmate Hirose. The anime adaptation has gained attention for its nostalgic 1980s–1990s visual style and comedic approach to romance.
With Episode 8 teasing a “rival” entering the picture, viewers can expect more hilarious misunderstandings, awkward romance, and emotional moments as Nakamura struggles to get closer to Hirose.
