Chiai Fujikawa Sings Ending Theme for SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table Anime
adokawa has announced that Chiai Fujikawa will perform the ending theme song for the upcoming television anime SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table, based on the light novel series by Yūshi Ukai (story) and Nekometal (illustrations).
The ending theme, titled “Inori” (Prayer), features lyrics written by Fujikawa herself, with composition and arrangement by Seima Kondō of Elements Garden.
Broadcast and Streaming Details
The anime is scheduled to premiere on January 7 at 11:00 p.m. JST on Tokyo MX, with the first episode airing as a 60-minute special. Beginning with episode two, the broadcast time will shift to 11:30 p.m.
The series will also debut on ABC TV on January 7 and on WOWOW starting January 13. In Japan, the anime will stream on Netflix and other platforms simultaneously with its television broadcast.
Opening Theme
The opening theme song, “¬Ersterbend” (pronounced “Not Ersterbend”), will be performed by LIN from MADKID.

About the Original Light Novel
Yen Press, which licenses the light novel series in English, describes the story as follows:
Yuuki awakens in a mysterious mansion wearing a maid outfit, alongside five other girls dressed the same way. The manor is filled with deadly traps and weapons, and the only way to escape is to participate in brutal death games. While terror grips the others, Yuuki remains calm—because she’s a seasoned professional who survives by winning lethal competitions and living off the prize money.
The light novel series began publication under Kadokawa’s MF Bunko J imprint in November 2022 after winning the Excellence Award at the 18th MF Bunko J Light Novel Newcomer Awards. The eighth volume was released on February 25, and volume nine is scheduled for January 23, 2026.
The series also ranked #1 in the New Title category of Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2024.
A manga adaptation by Banzai Kotobuki Daienkai launched in Comp Ace magazine in April 2023. The fourth collected volume was released on September 24, with the fifth volume scheduled for January 23, 2026.
