Anko Chōchin’s Kuri Hime Ayakashi Yobanashi manga is set to conclude later this year. The manga adaptation of Hyuganatsu’s novel series will officially come to an end with the next issue of Ichijinsha’s Monthly Comic Zero-Sum magazine on October 28, 2026.
The announcement was made in the November issue of Monthly Comic Zero-Sum. Chōchin launched the manga adaptation in the magazine in December 2024, bringing Hyuganatsu’s supernatural story to manga readers.
A Supernatural Story at a Shrine
The story follows Kinuko, a part-time college lecturer who teaches weaving and Japanese studies. She lives in a weaver’s hut located on the grounds of Tamamayu Shrine.
Although her living arrangements are unusual, Kinuko is well cared for by a wealthy family that looks after the shrine. She also regularly receives delicious food from two young children, Shiro and Kuro.
However, Kinuko eventually begins to notice something strange about her surroundings. There may be supernatural beings living alongside her, setting the stage for a mysterious and atmospheric story filled with Japanese folklore and the supernatural.
Manga Began in 2024
Anko Chōchin began the manga adaptation in Monthly Comic Zero-Sum in December 2024. Ichijinsha released the first compiled volume in July 2025, followed by the second volume on April 30, 2026.
The original story was written by Hyuganatsu, who is also known for the popular The Apothecary Diaries series. The original novel was first published online before receiving a print release from MyNavi Publishing.
With the manga now approaching its conclusion, readers will soon see how Kinuko’s supernatural encounters and life at Tamamayu Shrine come to an end.
