Muse Asia has announced that it has licensed the upcoming Toaru Anbu no ITEM anime, bringing the latest entry in the popular A Certain franchise to audiences across its Asian territories.
The TV anime is based on the light novel series Toaru Anbu no ITEM, written by Kazuma Kamachi and illustrated by NILITSU. The anime is scheduled to premiere in Fall 2026.
A New Story From the A Certain Universe
Toaru Anbu no ITEM focuses on ITEM, a powerful group operating in the shadows of Academy City. The team consists of four girls: Shizuri Mugino, Rikō Takitsubo, Frenda Seivelun, and Saiai Kinuhata.
The story follows ITEM as they take on dangerous missions that cannot be handled publicly. While Academy City appears peaceful on the surface, a darker world exists behind the scenes, where powerful organizations and Espers become involved in secret conflicts.
The anime will also introduce Choubi Hanano, who appears among the featured ITEM characters in the newly released character information.
Staff and Cast
Tatsuyuki Nagai, known for his work on A Certain Scientific Railgun, is directing the anime at J.C.STAFF, while Shigeki Kimoto is handling character designs.
The main cast includes:
- Ami Koshimizu as Shizuri Mugino
- Aya Suzaki as Rikō Takitsubo
- Maaya Uchida as Frenda Seivelun
- Chinatsu Akasaki as Saiai Kinuhata
These characters have already appeared in the wider A Certain franchise, making the new series particularly interesting for longtime fans.
Fall 2026 Premiere
A teaser trailer released earlier this year confirmed that Toaru Anbu no ITEM will premiere in Fall 2026. The trailer gives fans a glimpse of ITEM's dangerous missions and the darker side of Academy City.
With Muse Asia handling the license, fans in its supported Asian regions will be able to look forward to watching the new A Certain series through Muse's official distribution platforms.
More information about the streaming schedule and regional availability is expected to be announced closer to the anime's Fall 2026 premiere.
