The Dragon Ball franchise is returning to streaming with Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, the enhanced edition of the Dragon Ball Super TV anime. Netflix has confirmed that the series will stream internationally, with its U.S. release scheduled for October 17, 2026.
The anime will begin its Japanese broadcast on October 11, while Netflix's U.S. release will follow on October 17. In India, Netflix has also confirmed the series for an October 2026 release, although the exact Indian streaming date has not yet been announced.
An Enhanced Version of Dragon Ball Super
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is not simply a rebroadcast of the original 2015 anime. Toei Animation describes the project as an “ENHANCED” edition, featuring newly added and redrawn scenes, re-rendered footage, newly recorded dubbing, updated music and sound effects, and a reconstructed story.
The goal is to give the early Dragon Ball Super storyline a refreshed visual and audio presentation while bringing the adaptation closer to Akira Toriyama's original work.
Goku Faces the God of Destruction
The story takes place after the battle against Majin Buu. Earth has entered a period of peace, but that peace is interrupted when Beerus, the God of Destruction, awakens from a long sleep.
After hearing about a Saiyan who defeated Frieza, Beerus begins searching for Goku. His arrival on Earth puts Goku and his friends in an enormous battle against a powerful opponent whose actions could threaten the entire planet.
The enhanced series revisits the early Dragon Ball Super storyline surrounding Beerus, with later material also covering the Resurrection 'F' and Universe 6 arcs.
New Streaming Home for Fans
Netflix's announcement gives fans another way to watch the revamped series when it arrives this fall. The platform has already listed Dragon Ball Super: Beerus in its catalog, describing the series as a 2026 title centered on Beerus's search for a worthy rival.
The Japanese premiere is set for October 11, while Netflix's U.S. streaming debut is scheduled for October 17. Other regional release dates may vary, so fans should check their local Netflix listings for availability.
With updated animation, sound, and story presentation, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is set to bring Goku's encounter with the God of Destruction back to screens in a refreshed form.
